A Foundation of the J. Iverson Riddle Developmental Center

Reporting to the Assure the Future, Inc. executive director, the fiscal officer works part-time providing fiscal services to the Assure the Future, Inc., including purchasing assistance; bookkeeping; maintaining accounts payable; maintaining cash controls; coordinating with payroll services; providing financial reports to the ATF board, managers and funders; filing appropriate tax paperwork, and working with an independent auditor as needed. The fiscal officer works with the ATF executive director and fiscal support staff members to ensure seamless and coordinated systems across the origination and projects.

The position is located in Morganton, NC. The fiscal coordinator must have financial analytical ability; the ability to relate fiscal information to programmatic issues; communication of fiscal concepts and requirements to non-fiscal staff; the ability to understand and apply funding source standards, policies and procedures, and requirements to program operations. The applicant must be organized and have the ability to develop internal systems to ensure key functions are completed such as tracking spending, maintaining cash controls, processing invoices, issuing checks, managing the security of documents as well as preparing budgets and budget reports. The individual must have the ability to engage in active constructive participation in the program’s management team and be able to work with minimal supervision.

Candidate must possess:

  • BA/S in finance, accounting, or business administration
  • At least one year of work-related experience managing fiscal operations
  • Experience working with non-profit organizations.
  • Experience working with federal and private grants
